Bridge construction seen in a short timelapse might look simple to the general public but it is completely different for engineers.
We marvel at the greatness because we know the immense amount of review and analysis and calculation and planning and method setting required to precisely build a bridge with a main span over 1km.
The bridge featured in the video is the Chizhou Yangtze River Road Railway Bridge located in Anhui Province China.
This bridge is a massive transportation corridor with a total length of 3,116 meters.
The main bridge features an 812 meter main span and is designed as a double deck steel truss cable stayed bridge with three main trusses and three cable planes.
The upper deck is designed as a six lane highway.
The lower deck accommodates two railway tracks with a design speed of 250km per hour and two urban railway tracks with a design speed of 160km per hour.
It recently successfully completed the closure of its main span finishing the core structural construction.
